Formosa Tea is situated in Lugu Township, Nantou County. Nantou is a mountainous region right in the centre of Taiwan where many high mountain tea plantations can be found amongst the winding roads.
Dong Ding Shan is the mountain origin of the most famous tea of this region - Dong Ding Cha. Dong Ding is a wonderful style of oolong tea. The leaves are 30-40% oxidised, medium roasted, and rolled into tight little balls. The tealeaves retain a deep green colour, which then display a beautiful golden hue once brewed. The tea has a heady aroma and an earthy flavour, which finishes with a tannic, slightly sweet aftertaste.
