At the end of 2016, we went for a trip to Alishan. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Taiwan, and home to some of the best high-mountain tea. We stayed at the Plum Blossom Villa, a BnB operated by Scott and Tiwa, along with their charming first daughter Shiny. It's a picturesque spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Coincidentally, Scott had some of his own wonderful tea to share with us, and his knowledge and passion left an indelible impression. He is now involved in shifting local producers to cleaner methods of farming - towards organic, chemical-free growing.
Life moves on, and we now both have young families. We had babies around the same time in early 2017.
We kept in contact throughout those eventful months. Last year, Scott sent me some of his spectacular
Mi Xiang Hong Cha. It quickly became our favourite brew - hot or cold.
We are now pleased to offer the latest Spring iteration of this delicious variety.
Mi Xiang Hong Cha, or Honey Black Tea, is created much in the same way as Gui Fei Mei Ren Cha . Small Green Leaf Hoppers nibble on the leaves and initiate a chemical reaction that gifts the resulting tea with a scrumptious honey aroma.
This is truly a gorgeous brew, whether it's going to soothe you on a winter's morning, or refresh you on a hot summer afternoon. It has become a popular staple of our range of teas.
